The place

Punta Mita is where the jungle runs straight into the Pacific. Palms, white sand, warm water, and a light that turns everyone gold around four in the afternoon. They put the aisle right on the beach and let the waves keep time.

The two of them

Autumn in a sleek, simple dress that moved like water. Ryan in cream linen, grinning like a kid on the last day of school. Bridesmaids in sun-bleached colours, groomsmen in white, everyone barefoot by the end of the vows.

What I took with me

Hands, laughter, a kiss that went on long enough for people to start cheering. Then the lights came up, the music got loud, and the dance floor became the best photo booth on the coast.
